You're good. I used Batman as an example because I play a little Bats in PSLs, and you know what I find interesting? To actually have him be wrong once in a while. Same for my villains. I enjoy watching them make wrong assumptions and having it blow up in their faces and I get extremely frustrated with muns who want their characters to Be The Best At All Times Ever And Also Never Wrong.

I would love to play out a long-term plot of a hero figuring out my characters secrets (including a secret identity, both sides of which he develops CR in), but the problem is when the other mun automatically assumes that their character can figure out this secret identity after two conversations, months apart, with year+ canon update in between for my guy. I mean, why would you close off that avenue so soon? And what evidence are you basing this on? To use Batman as an example again, he exists in a universe where GLASSES are a flawless disguise. If my character puts a lot more effort into it than that, and is actively avoiding Batman, we need to be on the same page.
