look how every single time they claim ignorance that what they're doing is offensive or wrong and that they'll improve! you'll see! unless they have the memory of a goldfish and some really weird condition that prevents them from re-reading everything they've ever been told about what is and isn't an acceptable way to treat people, they are fucking lying when they say they didn't know this was bad.
they never do better. they never make a token effort to try. they pull the exact same shit over and over again. and now that people's disgust with them has reached critical mass, they're massively oversharing things clearly designed to get people's pity and keep tagging with them because they're just going to fall to pieces if they don't.
manipulative behavior doesn't have to be effective to be manipulative. lies don't have to be elaborate or intelligent to count as lies. people remember these things and form opinions about others' integrity based upon them. there is nothing a liar can claim that is automatically exempt from scrutiny or skepticism. that is the liar's fault. not anyone else's.
