What do you mean? Of course it's possible to set up action in a network post. There's no rule that says your character has to be lolling around in bed with no pants on to post to the network.
My characters are usually out and about while posting, and I often get other characters to meet up with them in that post. Maybe I'm missing something obvious because I've never played in a journal game, but I don't see why it can't be done.
Or you might be in a game that is more chill about that. Most of the comm based games I've played in are not. In person stuff goes to the logs comm and network stuff goes to the network comm.
Which may well be where all the gripes about networks come from, because playing like this does restrict your ability to have in person interactions. But other games have proven that a network isn't bad to have, it's the restriction of not allowing network and in person posts to be done in the same post.
