I don't mind kicking someone extra cash if I have it, but so many people take advantage that now it's like in your best interest to make sure they're legitimately having a financial emergency and not just in trouble for the millionth time because of a fucking dollfie habit.
you don't have to want to play it. it's the insistence that it's gross and problematic and other such tumblrisms that suggests you have no IC/OOC divide, not the preference itself. especially when you start calling into question peoples' actual rl morals.
there's lots of things i don't want to play. doesn't mean i find them morally objectionable. doesn't mean i think people who do want to play those things must have some kind of problem. what you enjoy in fiction is not an indicator of what you enjoy irl.
As strange as this is, the concept makes me want to toss Woody from Toy Story at him so they can get all existential.
Like, even if the foods don't get eaten, they'll eventually rot. And even if toys initially get handed down, someday they'll end up rotting in an attic or in the trash.
To be an inanimate but living thing in an animated movie is half-life.
can we please stop deadnaming/invalidating trans* people just because they happen to be a wanker
i don't mean to dig up old wank, but i am getting really sick of a certain wanker being deadnamed and referred to by male pronouns for no other reason than because they're a wanker, just out of spite
this! I can't tell you how fast I've backed off when I start noticing that 'Character X has this phobia because I know what it's like' Character X is this sexuality and I happen to be too' 'Character X has past problems with their family even though canon shows otherwise and oops, I happen to have past problems with my family'. It's usually only a very short amount of time before they start running with headcanons that go against canon just so the character can be a conduit for all of their issues. The super defensive about defending their headcanons is the natural follow up. We all draw from our life experiences to make our writing more grounded but there's a serious line between that and self-inserting to unrecognizability.
not my favorite i think, but the most recent one i thought was interesting was the one in which a rinharu shipper on twitter turned out to have been catfishing all her friends (she used selfies from another twitter user who then came forward to call her out on it) and also pretended to be two of her other friends. it was pretty shocking because many people felt bad for the friends she lied to, but then a bunch of people tried to paint the person behind the catfishing as a makoharu shipper who was out to get rinharu shippers and suddenly people made the whole ordeal about ships and shippers of one ship being worse than shippers of the other ship
it was incredibly stupid, especially because the affected parties just wanted to be left alone and deal with the fact that a friend they trusted for years turned out to be such a liar
i have someone who friended me due to interest in a ship, but every time i gave them starters or tried to do anything they dropped me like 3 tags in. they still come into my plurks to talk about the ship sometimes, but i don't have the energy to waste on trying to get a thread going after that.
