on top of that, it's not sourced, so literally no one knows how hold he's supposed to be, they're just guessing.

well, for one, in most shows it's adults playing teenaged characters. there are exceptions, but the general rule of thumb has been that. in a drawn medium, you don't have to deal with that, and you can draw the character looking however you like, depending on the aesthetic you're going for.

secondly, there's a huge variation depending on that aesthetic. shows that emphasize cuteness (idol shows, moeshit) are generally going to have their teenaged characters emphasizing youthfullness, while shows that emphasize drama (your lie in april, march comes in like a lion) will tend to have characters look more realistically teenaged, or even if they emphasize action (bleach, most sports anime)

Understanding this has a lot to do with accepting the fact that a lot of people are stanning for anime designed for 12 year olds.

You can tell a lot about who's supposed to watch an anime by checking up on when/how it aired originally. Most anime with a timestamp in the corner is probably airing between 6~9am and is intended for kids to watch before school. Naruto and high-action-but-family-friendly stuff like Naruto ends up being dinnertime TV, usually around 5~7pm. Stuff like Jojo ran at 12:30am -- people upthread mentioned it as a standout series probably because it's a late-night experience that can get away with more. And then there's the after-midnight stuff like Frame Arms Girl, which airs at 1AM because it caters to the kinds of hardcore fans who would be up at 1 in the morning to watch anime titties bounce around. (Madoka was another 1am anime, IIRC)

It's a bit of googling, but I've found it satisfying to look at random anime characters and their uguu~ing and then check out their series to see they come from something that's intended for actual children or stunted adults.

and i don't even mean it in a thirty year old actor playing a 16 year old kid kind of way.

you are literally too stupid to even argue with at this point.

Yeah, that's definitely a thing. Even "in-group" people who are flaky as fuck and drop things left and right still get mobbed and fawned all over. They'll get 15 characters tagging into every post, even if they only ever reliably tag back to one or two of them, have all their plurks dog-piled into with praise, and all their plotting comments flooded.

the jojo manga ran in the same kids/teens manga magazine as naruto and bleach for most of its run though

it was originally a kids/teens manga just like naruto until pretty much the largest youth fanbase aged up enough for it to become an adult nostalgia thing

fun fact: fist of the north star ran in the same magazine too

If you're that unhappy with it anon, why don't you leave?

I don't mean that in the Get Out!!!!! OMG!!!! way, but RP is supposed to be a fun hobby and there's no shortage of places to do it. If this experience has been that bad for you there's no obligation to stay and you're likely to continue being unhappy and contributing that unhappiness to the environment you already find so uncomfortable.

I'm sorry you're having a bad experience but it's just RP. No one has to be here and no one is getting paid.

I stay because of one person and if they ever drop, I'll be the next one out the door.

There really is a shortage of places when you play a popular character and in most of the games I might consider, they're already taken.

(Anonymous) 2017-03-10 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
So wait. Your complaint is the game is cliquey and unfriendly but the second the one person you're in the game for drops you're also out the door?

(Anonymous) 2017-03-10 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't join the game for that one person, I stay because of them. I was considering dropping before they apped. If they ever leave, why should I stay when very few other people have any interest in CR with my character?

said no one ever

(Anonymous) 2017-03-12 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
Or the ones who tag into every post ever because their characters super invested in everything!!!! But then drop 90% of it 2 tags in because it's too much and just focus on their ships or tagging their BFF.

(Anonymous) 2017-03-13 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
the word they're looking for is "anata" if the character is talking to their SO and legit can confirm "koibito" is weeaboo as fuck

Late af but she wouldn't last any longer there, either.

OMG, I am so happy I am not the only one who hates this character. THey should of named Epiphany Hipster Mary Sue. Honestly, Milligan ruined what could have been an epic finale of Hellblazer. Poor Gemma and Angie, and all the other characters that were either dumbed down or turned into canon fodder for unnecessary radical changes to their development.
