-So. Mum and the doctor-lady I saw today have come up with a plan for how I will help around the house more and spend less time on the internet.
-I'll have to do certain things every day, and if I don't do them before mum gets home, the modem gets taken to work the next day, therefore cutting out internet.

i'm okay with people unfriending me but when people unfriend me they're telling me what to do hdu i don't care what people think about me now let me tell everyone how they're wrong about me if you don't like it don't read it now let me read wankgate and talk about how they shouldn't talk people should be allowed to write whatever they want but reacting negatively to the words someone writes is slander nobody would care if this was about harry potter!!!

why is one adaptation (the movies) fine to make but a tv series isn't? should red dragon not have been made because manhunter was enough? or would the show be fine as long as the actors weren't pretty (to which i add: edward norton is damn pretty, and i've never seen mads mikkelsen considered widely attractive before this)?
you're the one on the butthurt high horse, here. you don't decide who deserves to be a fan and who doesn't. and guess what, despite the existence of the tv show, the books and movies are still there. go read/watch them if the existence of a new thing hurts you so much. i can understand the argument of not wanting a certain group of people in the fandom, but just judging anyone who got into it through the tv show at all? is fucking stupid, just like all the people who whine about the integrity of the original games whenever a new version of pokemon comes out.
there are plenty of reasons why someone may not have discovered the books and movies until now. the only reason i did was because i had parents that let me watch r rated movies at a young age. even then, the movies and books were at their peak popularity when i was in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, and i'm in my mid-20s. so take the "i'm superior because i liked it before it was cool/pretty" stick out of your ass, please.

i can understand that argument, i really can. but most people i've seen being hostile towards the fandom are the types of people who act like anyone who discovers the series through the tv show doesn't deserve to be here (as the other anon is).
i have quite a few friends who got an interest sparked in the fandom through the show and are now reading all the books, but a good portion of them is afraid to participate because of how much vitriol the old guard has towards new fans just because a few people are in it because they think hugh dancy is hot.

The Insano is actually GOOD, though.
At the risk of outing myself, there are plenty of good examples out there! Anything produced by Liar-soft comes to mind (Translated are Forest, Sekien no Inganock, and Shikkoku no Sharnoth) -- if I'm remembering right, a big chunk of their staff is composed of writers, which is why they tend towards weird/plot-heavy games. Sakurai, the writer for those second two, honestly writes some of my favorite porn in the industry (though I might be biased because she's a woman writing for non-BL eroge, which I don't have a huge interest in).
Nitroplus (Saya, Hanachirasu, Demonbane, Kikokugai) is weird about their porn, but there's definitely more story than sex in most of their games; you could app from a translated one easy enough I think. Another huge favorite of mine is Innocent Grey (Kara no Shoujo), which is an all-around amazing company -- gorgeous music and art with great storylines despite the 18+ content (which is sort of iffy). If you can put up with the lead artist's giant foreheads and lolita fetish, Littlewitch (Quartett!, Period) is also good on story.
Then I'm not getting into KEY or TYPE-MOON. But basically, Anon, it's not nearly as bad as you think!
