After last week's episode, it might actually be the most progressive show on network TV right now. One of the main characters is an Asian-American woman, and two thirds of the supporting characters are either racial or sexual minorities.

They just had a trans character played by a trans actor, and her relationship struggles and search for identity were treated identically to the way a cis character's would be. Elementary misses the mark sometimes, especially with casually misogynistic jokes and comments, but they sure do try.
