i didn't mind him that much when i had him on plurk, even though i disagreed with his politics. his emotes always got on my nerves, though. it always read as "i just expressed an opinion i know is offensive to people but instead of backing it up i'll just shy away and hope you don't hate me too much, hahaha ^-^;;;;;" and he didn't just do it with politics or religion, he'd always tack that stupid emote onto every remotely disagreeable opinion he expressed
