not whiteknighting him, but there's a frightening amount of people who think that if a woman isn't clawing and fighting her way out of bed, then it's not really rape. thoughtlessness and ignorance is no excuse, but it is why rape culture is more than just nefarious villains who twirl their mustaches in between attacks on random strangers.
