I am having a really hard time keeping interested, tbqh. Like I love my casts and my CR but idk ... I feel like everything's been really bland as of late.
not to be an asshole but i get the feeling its got a lot to do with the mod team being more invested in silly shit with their characters than actual plot progression. id love it if theyd take the focus off the slice of life and add in more things to shake the city up. what i loved about early asgard was how involved it was. sometimes there was too much happening but there was always something to shake up the status quo. your characters had an impact and now they dont.
Wait, so you're from that period and you don't remember the three months of bitching that the players openly did about how "too active" the game was, and they couldn't get any time with their CR because they were leaping from game event to game event?
Seriously, though, they accept plotting. Suggest new plots or start character plots. This isn't rocket science. Just whining because there's not enough plotting's lazy.
You captured the point of what makes this unfunny: people having fun just with their friends. You can use your, or their plurks or journals for that. This isn't about their using the OOC community for, gasp, OOC communication, it's about their making a big deal over an in-joke in a very nudge-nudge kind of way. And that and associated circlejerking are not what the OOC community for her. It doesn't help that the one who came up with this is a a mod tbh.
oh for the love of everything, she noted the joke, it's not like she left anyone out on it. If you find it funny, great. If you don't, that's fine. But this whining is absurd.
from an outsider's perspective, this looks just obnoxious. it's like those fake drop posts where people are going on hiatus and make it seem like they're dropping at first, only made worse by all the dumb comments.
it was one of the merlin players (arthur?) saying they were dropping because they were informed they can't play an arthurian character if they don't like tea!! LOL!
and a bunch of comments from cast & i guess CR going ugh yeah bye loser
The Arthur Pendragon player/mod, Faith, made a plurk about not liking tea, in that plurk people said she couldn't play the king of England if she didn't like tea, so she faked out a drop post with a sad gif and a goodbye. Cue requisite comments of "OMG I WAS SO SCARED FOR A MOMENT BB DON'T LEAVE ME" from people not in on the joke and "HA GOOD GET OUT MY CHARACTER WILL DO X Y Z WITHOUT YOU" from the clique in on it.
that's one of those things that's HILARIOUS for all of five minutes for the people in on it but just ends up being awkward once the moment wears off and they realize it looks kind of dumb to everyone else
no need to bring this to wankgate when the self-imposed embarrassment over being exposed as socially awkward losers to the rest of the game is punishment enough
which is why i dropped tbh. i tried to get (what i thought was) an interesting player plot going but it didn't work out and i'm not a fan of slice-of-life, so...
it's a shame, really. the game used to be really interesting and had a really good mix of avenues for players to explore for their characters depending on what they wanted to do. by the time i dropped, it felt as if that had somewhat disappeared.
What was it a year ago that you liked? Mod run events? Dragon battles, Ice fairies coming down, plague running rampant, hugging contests?
Or was it the character plots? Diva's murders? The Darkness Plot?
If it's the latter, there's an easy way to get those things back. Start them. If it's the former, suggest the mods do something more active, now that we've had a break. A fight or something to break up the quiet a little. I mean the dream event's hardly tame slice of life, assuming you've even looked at some of those dreams.
It's not so much the plots as much as it is the atmosphere, I suppose? Everything feels stale lately, as opposed to the way things moved a year ago. It just doesn't feel like you can jump into just anything these days, even if the plots are meant to be all inclusive. You have to have certain CR or know certain people to get involved.
It might also have to do with the complete overhaul in the modding team compared to a year ago, but yeah.
this arc has been boring as fuck, but that's half because everyone complained about how fast the game moved/how all the war and battle shit didn't suit their character types (which was fucking stupid, since it's a game based on war) and half because the old mod team completely flaked on their shit and left Tosshi carrying everything.
I don't know about the new mod team because they're still new but they better make the next arc interesting or I'm out of here.
