At the end of the day, if the mods wanted to do a month long serious event it was going to end up falling on some month and messing with someone's birthday plans. It's unfortunate, but the alternative is that Zodion can never have long plot events, which I don't think is what people want either.
It sucks that it's messed up your plans, but it had to happen at some point. Maybe try contacting the mods and see what they have to say?
Unless they plan to put the entire plot on hold for me (lol) then there really isn't anything they can do about it. If they want month long plots maybe one that's hard to opt out of wasn't the way to go.
Yeah, I think it'd be reasonable to ask for something like extending the window of opportunity for getting a birthday blessing by, if not a whole month, at least long enough for things to have settled down.
^ This. It seems like it would be a pretty reasonable thing, and probably plot-efficient. If the Twelve manage to regain control, it might be seen as a boon to try and show how much they care~ if they give people the chance to reclaim that month's powerups or whatnot?
