why is everyone up in a twist over this rave? from what i heard you guys had parties in the past. even a pool one?

is it because the player is a hamsteak or.

idek anon i've been in game for years and we've had electricity almost the whole time. also pool tables and alcohol that appeared out of nowhere every time someone wanted to start a new bar. we stopped the alcohol thing but the electricity is a perfectly reasonable thing bc we've had characters who know how to make and run generators

seems like it's a bunch of newish players whining bc they read the game info but didn't actually look at the progress made in parts of the city

I haven't been in the game for about a year+ but I do think some parts of the city had electricity.

That said, as a raver, to assume any of it is enough to create that type of atmosphere is actually kinda ridiculous. It just comes off like slice of life wish fulfillment to me. Adstring is still advertised as a survival game, and, even though it was going off the deep end when I was playing there, it still should be treated as such. It was perfectly fine to find half used bags of flour and maybe a lone silicone implant if you wanted to push your luck but to think the massive amounts of power/items/etc. would go into a rave is just laughable.

the game info says that only a small portion of the northwest area has electricity and that it hasn't been maintained for a long time so it should be in shitty condition. 'No other areas of the Safezone or buildings have electricity.'

if a character can build or repair a generator enough for it to work then you could have power, but i wouldn't say electricity is a perfectly reasonable thing for anyone to just assume they have. if that's not true and it hasn't been for 'years' then the game info sorely needs to be updated.

There's a huge difference between "generators that can run power for a few lights & refrigerators in a small area of the city" and "enough power to waste on a rave".

But then again, this is hardly a new issue for Adstring. It seems like half the game wants slice of life, the other half wants survival horror. And there's a huge difference between the two.

which would be fine if, as an rpanons anon said, it were being played as 'dumb character fucks up, wastes resources, and gets called on it' but that's not what's happening. the people who would icly call them on it don't want to get involved because of the high chance of ooc butthurt since the player obviously didn't design the plot to have any negative consequences for their character

tbh ica=icc and they deserve some shit for it but i can't get mad at anyone for wanting to avoid butthurt whining. lord knows i don't want to get into that

i just read the rpanons thread and someone mentioned hamsteak in a way like it sounded like it was someone doing that.

plus a i fucking hate hamsteak so i look for any chance to take a piss on it.

next time maybe it would be wise to not be a fucking moron and read something instead of jerking off your massive hateboner all over it

the player in question is actually an oc. the homestuck was the only one who pointed out the character was a douche.

i don't care that it is going on. i can ignore all the poorly written posts. i just want to know if my character can stop foraging for food 12 hours a day and living like a miserable vagrant because other people are having raves and not being lynched by hungry, filthy, monster-maimed mobs.

This game's quality has been going downhill for a long long time and the rave is just one example of the inconsistencies and stupid circle-jerking plots that make up the majority of the game.

The new mods are cool, I guess, but most of the player base is obsessed with shipping or injuring their precious babbies so that they can have all the angsty dramus and h/c.

Perfect example is that weird threesome going on between Rubedo Jenny and Duo. How the fuck does that make any sense besides just wanting to be special snowflakes with the most unique relationship in the game? Not to mention the Duo just keeps hurting himself all the time. First he had a vampire literally break every bone in his arm and in his latest post he has 3rd degree burns. Wah wah come pay attention to my poor precious character.

But they're not actually some special snowflake threesome? There is more than one floating around in game, and this one is no where near the first to crop up. I can't speak for ICness though since I only know one of the characters' canons.

People have also been complaining about there not being enough horror and survival type things in game. So what's so bad about getting characters injured in events and logs that are designed to injure them? Rip attacked and injured plenty of people in the log where she broke Duo's hand, and I foresee a ton of injuries this week when even the description of the event itself encourages electrical fires and electrocution. If you feel it's not creative enough for you, then do something more creative with your character during the event, but these sorts of events are meant to hurt characters. It's dumb to complain about it, well, hurting characters.

these are literally the dumbest things to whine about

it's a horror-survival game, the fact no one in game gets hurt is fucking stupid. i haven't followed duo but if it makes sense for the character to get hurt in a survival game based in an apocalyptic wasteland then good for them

and whining about shipping in general is just retarded
