Okay, be honest... do you get butthurt if you randomly tag someone new and they don't reply back? And if you do, why? Personally, it doesn't bother me but I do sometimes ignore tags if I don't like a fandom or a character, so I was just curious more than anything.

If it's in a game? Yes, that's shitty behavior. On a meme it depends, I personally don't have much time for them and will be put out if I've taken the time to write up a decent tag only for it to be never replied to.

not butt hurt. More curious really. I'm assuming you're talking memes because in a game it would be different. But yes, in memes I generally put some effort into my opening tags to strangers and try to suit the situation I invent to something their character could get involved with. People seem to respond well to it when I tag with popular characters and I often get tags from strangers when I post. Some of my characters aren't as well known though and those often don't get responses. I always wonder if it's me or the other rper. I don't feel insulted, just mildly curious if there was something I could have done differently to make it work. Sometimes there's a mild, brief disappointment because I wouldn't have tagged if I thought it didn't have potential and I'll avoid tagging them again simply because I assume they aren't interested. But there are always other rpers who will answer tags, usually for the same characters. It's just a process of finding people my writing jives with. They're the ones that really matter.

You're in a game to play with other fandoms, you signed up for this so play it out.
Nothing pisses me off more than people who app into a game and then proceed to only play with their canonmates.

If it's in a meme, I couldn't care less.

i sometimes get a bit sad if i felt like i gave them a really good tag or if it was a character i really wanted to play with, but tagging people on memes is kind of like shooting in the dark

* Just to clarify, I'm not talking games. I don't have the time to commit to an ongoing game so I don't even try app'ing to them. More generalised RP like DRs or memes I was referring to.

nope. tbh i don't even notice if i don't get a reply back. only exception to this is if i've taken time to set up a scenario with them via pm or comments and then get blown off. that kind of irritates me.

Nope! I might get a little disappointed. I do get more disappointed, however, if I try to tag them more than once and never get a tag back, or get a tag and then a promptly dropped thread.

I do get a little buttpained when I see a person around a LOT in memes and they seem to never respond to any tags, or consistently only tag one person who responds to them, or have one or two threads they drop and don't bother to tag any of the other people. But that's mostly a mix of selfish disappointment and "wtf why are you wasting people's times if you don't ever actually do meme threads?"

Depends. If it's no reply ever, I don't really care. If they're deliberately ignoring my tag and replying to everyone else instead, yeah, I'll admit that bothers me.

I wouldn't say I get butthurt, just kind of worried and sad? I get a little bit, "Oh no, am I doing something wrong?" and I worry that I'm boring or creepy or OOC, or that there's otherwise something about me that's putting them off. I don't really care if someone ignores a meme tag because they don't like my canon, but if I don't know that's why, it does make me kind of sad for a few seconds.

But then I forget about it and move on, so it's not a big deal.

the only time i got kind of butthurt was when I myself was randomly tagged by a character i didn't know and i rushed off to watch their film canon before tagging back with an AU scenario i'd worked out based on their canon, only to have them never tag me again. i feel like i must have sucked majorly or something and i'm still disappointed because i think our characters could have hit it off really well if it had even gotten started. at least the movie was good.
