Doing it with mine too. It helps that I've partially fallen into the same trap the op's in, but the person who called out my character isn't very savory either (and kind of a jerk), so no one believes him or they don't care and when mine's been confronted, he's just been honest and polite and the other guy looks like a complete tool.
