I think they're just looking for reasons to justify being unhappy with this.
After all, I'm pretty sure if someone is running a player plot, they have every right to tell people what they can or cannot do as long as they're not shooting down every single idea in favor of their own character. This plot specifically is supposed to come about in Ganon's defeat, so I don't get the problem.
