Did you guys forget that the power cap in Luceti cuts character's abilities by 50% at least?
Then there's the fact that if the player wants it, the power cap can further limit super powerful characters or cut off portions of their powers altogether if they'll potentially be problematic for the player or plotting. It's designed to level the playing field and make it more interesting for the players. You see it done by people who play godmode characters plenty.
It's boring to have a ultra powerful character win everything every time, so of course characters who are more powerful are going to be asked to stand down and not one KO their way through a big plot.
IC=/=OOC. If we don't pace what our characters can do in game, we'll just end up with people acting shounen hero in every plot and a bloody wankfest.
