See, that part? I don't mind. Because it's the kind of stupid shit poeple pull in RL. I don't deny Glee has many problems, but some of the stuff people complain about (when it comes to characters being dumb or some kind of -ism) are how people really act. It's this kind of thing that makes me think they don't leave the basement.
i think that what most people take issue with isn't that the characters are acting like asshats, but that their asshattery isn't treated as such. it's treated as ~real, genuine expressions of kindness and friendship or whatever instead.
maybe sometimes, but I have seen people get upset at things the show (and many others) bluntly portray as not smart/negative/etc. Because...idk negative things should never be said and dealt with?
(I have also seen them do dumb shit and never acknowledge it is dumb, so it does go both ways)
