(Permission was asked for to post this survey here.)
Hello! Some of you may have already seen this around plurk (I'm surprised at how much it's spread), and might see it on rpanons as well, since I posted it there recently. For my senior thesis I'm doing a study on Anonymity of the Internet. The purpose of this study is to examine the use of anonymity on the internet, focusing on the users of the Dreamwidth.org community, and looking at the various uses of the anonymous function – both positive and negative. Through surveying part of the community, the study tries to determine if the pros of anonymity outweigh the cons.
If you're interested in participating, you'll need to read the consent form. You're not required to sign anything; participation is completely anonymous.
The survey itself should only take about 5-10 minutes of your time.
Thank you for the help! Feel free to pass the two links around (I CANNOT use anyone's data if they do not read the consent form and if they're under 18, as per the rules of my college). Everything I've received so far has been wonderful. The more responses I have, the better!
