i just don't like anime art and there are some cultural aspects i don't like especially about women. i have a more difficult time finding a niche and what i might be interested in, either because i hate the art or the characters are too young (i like older characters and am drawn to them more). i hate when i'm told i'm not looking hard enough. sorry but i'm a lazy fuck.
i don't like a lot of popular live action shit (mcu, spn, britaboo shit, ouat, what else is cool right now i probably don't like it) either and i think most of it is awful and i think the actors aren't attractive too.

i'm always wary of hype trains myself, anon, but hellsing ultimate is really very good. its only honest failings are in its soundtrack compared to the original and that the initial episodes are a little slower/don't tie into the overall plot as much. if you love vampires, gratuitous amounts of gore, and gorgeous animation, you'll like it.
that being said, keep in mind you have the anime (just hellsing) and the ovas (hellsing ultimate). the anime departs from the manga it's based on, hellsing ultimate is the more accurate adaptation. it also gets major points for having a female protagonist who manages to kick ass while not falling into the same bland tropes most ~badass ladies~ tend to.

The difference between anime and LA is greater than the difference between a blue tie and a red tie. Anyway, many restaurants operate a dress code. Plenty of places only allow formalwear and plenty of places won't let you in if you're too dressed up. The restaurant owner or manager gets to decide what the dress code is, and from that, who gets in. So long as they tell you this before you book a table, that's their right.

I think it is a little intellectually dishonest to put anime and manga (which is almost entirely made about Japanese people by Japanese people for Japanese people) in the same category as Western media for representation of non-white peoples. By that standard, Japanese media is just as homogeneous as Western media, if not more so. I can usually find a fair number of POC in most of the Western media I consume, whereas I seldom find a non-Japanese character in the Japanese media I consume. It makes sense, given that Japan is a lot more homogenous than the North-Western world, but it also makes "anime is diverse!" a bit of a cheap argument.
While it still represents non-white characters, whether in fantasy universes or not, it is a bit ridiculous to suggest that almost exclusively Japanese representation is somehow inherently inclusive. It still seldom represents black or brown people, or even other East Asian people. Having a game that is 49% [Fantasy] White and 49% [Fantasy] Japanese and 2% "Other" is only scarcely more diverse than a game that is 99% [Fantasy] White and 1% Other.

nah man, fuck that. it's so tacky and nasty. i play some vidya (that are super animu style) and people always seem shocked and it's like... just because i don't play from the typical canons that overlap (teen wolf and spn i think tend to bridge the eastern/western stuff?) and it's like really... idk why you find this weird?

If you do play anime elsewhere, you're not a real la fan, though. It's only a matter of time until you drop the la characters and focus on your shitty animus that are boring at best and outright hideously disgusting at worst.
No I'm a WoC who is sick an tired of people insisting how many more PoC character players there would be around if this ONE thing suddenly changed. Most players are white girls who don't care enough about PoC characters to even have thought about playing them beyond a fleeting consideration. Because they assume it's too hard and too tough to play a PoC. When all they have to do is treat them like a damn person and play them based on how they are in their canon.
I'm tired of people acting like it's the secret wankers keeping players away from PoC characters when that's total bullshit. How many people who have played a PoC character have actually been wanked on? How many of those weren't being offensive or playing their character OOC?
The fact they keep insisting PoC characters are these evasive special unicorn characters they "can't do justice," "can't relate to," or "will get wanked on for screwing up," is just a passive kind of racism that continues to make PoCs the Unknowable Other while shifting responsibility for their refusal to even try on some hypothetical horde of sjws out to get them that I've yet to see.
I would welcome people playing more PoC. I would even give people some leeway just for trying as long as they're willing to improve. But if you give the average rper a choice, they will pick a white character over a PoC majority of the time.
