No, that's a dumbass chicken shit cop-out thought for people who too full of negative stereotypes about PoC that they know they can't play one without being offensive. The very fact they cannot see a PoC as an actual person or character and can only look at them from the perspective of what their skin color is says more about them than anything else.

And that isn't going to suddenly change with all the damn anime and video game characters gone. People will still claim they can't dare to play PoC or someone might wank on them.
