IDK, it kind of reminds me on one of the OC arranged marriage games that used to be (maybe still are?) popular on IJ. But at least those generally had some kind of logical plot - a biological disaster had rendered 99.99% of the population infertile or something, so the dystopian government arranged genetically optimal marriages and provided living space to keep the human race from dying out. I'm not really into games like that, but at least it might be interesting. Would characters accept their role for the good of humanity, or would they fight back, or would they try to find true love in secret, etc.

Shipping Port's premise is just stupid. Love is dying out? Why? That makes no sense. A benevolent god magically sets random jamjar arrivals up with their soul mates in sunny Malibu, ignoring the fact that the rest of the world's population is presumably made up of emotionless drones on the verge of total social and population collapse because they "can't love?" This game has a perfect, idyllic, boring as fuck setting that makes no sense. Even if I wanted to play out a ship in a game with my rp partner, this is the dullest possible way to do it. The game has been stripped of any actual story or conflict - characters can't even cheat or resist being paired up. I can play warm and fuzzy domestic fluff anywhere. This is shit.
