shit, they may not even be inept. a lot of min-wage places undertrain and understaff, but don't adjust their standards, so the employees are constantly being shrieked at by both the customers and the managers.
i know being called a 'fucking retard dropout whore' at least once a day when i worked retail did wonders for my stress levels, confidence, and belief that not routinely strangling assholes was a good way to live my life.
good point and i didn't think of the inadequate training issue. i was focused on the op saying that their plurk friends are "bad at their jobs" and wanted to point out that even if that were true, it still shouldn't be a factor in their worthiness as rp friends. i'm guessing that op has either never worked in the service industry, or they have and it comes so easily to them that they take it for granted and think even a grade schooler should be able to handle it.
