It's a game where people who can use magic are brought in by Davy Jones and search for a magic jewel in a world that is 90% ocean, and you're worried about realistic ships.

It's a game where the mods of the game didn't do five minutes of wikipedia research on their basic concept.

Actually one of them did. (http://whitecapbay.dreamwidth.org/783.html)

Calm your tits, anon, it's just RP. They're fully aware their ships aren't logical / don't go with the time period / aren't all FROM the same time period. But hey! It's doesn't take place in our world! So who gives a fuck!

...Dude. One of the mods is making a masterpost on pirating and ships. I doubt they didn't do their research. It's just that no one cares as much as you do about ships, and expecting every single person to put hours of research into this so they can play a game and have fun and whatnot. when you can teleport between ships because MAGIC once a week, I think the "research" is the least important thing.

If you want something 100% accurate, you don't want a game. So, go write a book, butthurt baby.

I'm in the game, an AoS geek, and I think you're putting way too much concern into this aspect.

Now, I really, really want to see people struggle with the aspect of steering these vessels and all of that (and I plan on my character having a hard time with it, especially since they aren't given to manual labor at all) but I don't think "They're from different eras!" is something to worry too much about.

I saw the post. I appreciated the shit out of it but was way too lazy to read.

As said. Magical game. No thanks, I don't need to be accurate.
