Why are things that would be a normal part of face-to-face conversation considered attention whore-y online?
Like, say a friend does one of those Plurk memes and you participate in it. If you were in the same room together, it would be perfectly normal and accepted to ask they do yours too, right? But online? Oh no, that's a grab for attention.
