it might be what you were aiming for, but it's still basically excusing his behavior at a level that he shouldn't be allowed. 'sure we'll believe you're trans. you're still an asshole', is giving him the right to say he's a she to do the things that he should not be allowed to do. giving him free reign as a female to get into all the places he shouldn't be allowed to get into just because he slaps a label on himself for the express purpose of doing just that is less about not respecting his right to be trans and more about calling him out on his bullshit.
