If someone is trying to actively avoid someone, then they'll already know what username they're looking for. Otherwise the only reason to look through and pm someone is if you're doing that stupid thing where you ask permission to app someone from their canon. Which is stupid because you don't need permission from anyone but the mods to app from a certain canon.
