I agree with you tbh. The ending was definitely flawed and imo should have been a megamorphs-length book. The parents were neglected, which was especially a bad oversight to me in the case of Eva, who was such an important part of the war effort and vital to Marco's character development. It could have been much better... I just don't hate it like some fans do.
