you pretty much hit every nail on the head right here. memes are for exactly this kind of playing around and being indulgent. there aren't castmates having to react to the character being with a non-canon li, or having a different sexual orientation than in canon, or anything else. if the person threading with you is enjoying it, too, then who cares?
