the thing is there is an easy solution
try playing the popular male character you like yourself and advertise as m/f only and you'll have all the shippy tags you want since clearly there are a bunch of female character players looking for m/f with that guy
if you are super thirsty for a specific ship you need to be willing to play both sides of it
half of the time i've wanted to play a specific ship i've had to switch characters to get it for both m/m and m/f
you can't expect other people to change what they're doing to suit you so you have to work with what is available

starrah was part of hocave iirc. i'm still not exactly clear what hocave did that got them all such a bad rep but i think a lot of it was bullying.
I left tumblr to escape mindless political discourse fueled by feels and very little everything else. Now I have to mute the same shaking and crying Trump plurk at least three times a day.
i was thinking of joining this game but it looks like it's got a secret contingent of huge assholes. i'm kind of disappointed because i've always heard how relaxed and friendly it is and this seems to be erupting just now, i don't remember seeing much wank before.

it's pretty easy to avoid them. april will probably tag new players but if you don't engage she'll take the hint unless you play someone she's got the hots for. her amat buddies play ladies and won't pester other female characters or dudes who don't want to bang them. clara and charlie really only want to play with their clique or anyone who fawns over magnus and alec. it's even easier if you don't play la.

This is a dumb angle. I've dealt with her off and on for years, and I hate her thoroughly, but I never got the impression of anything like this. You're reaching. She's just an entitled, manipulative, demanding and back-biting pain in the ass. That's not gender sensitive.

i got it from shit she posted on her twitter. i would've linked it but she posts pictures with her full name all over everything and a google search brings up all her real life stuff. i hate april but i didn't want to smear where she works and crap all over anon comms where assholes might try to harass her. if i'm misreading it or she was just going through a phase or whatever, that's great and takes the skeeviness out of it.
Ah, I do not know their twitter. I really don't want to have that much to do with them, so I'll refrain from commenting further. Their behavior's bad enough as is anyway. I always avoid them, and almost anyone who has them friended.

Gonna politely disagree here, if only because it took almost a decade of a complete change in lifestyle for Vegeta to even admit that he gave a damn about his family, and over a decade to openly fight for them (and still being embarrassed over that show of emotion and humiliating himself for their sake). I think that's less woobifying and more world's worst tsundere in action taking forever to actively show that he gives a shit. The only real example I can think of for woobifying Vegeta was when he was crying and dying to Freeza and telling Goku to avenge him and their race, which is when the series went "who cares if Vegeta did horrible shit HE WAS A SLAVE BOO HOO."
Piccolo Jr. is less a change from his own vile actions and more outright woobifying by both the series and the fandom because he kidnapped a 4 year old kid thinking he could train the kid to beat up alien invaders as the ultimate insult to a perceived enemy, who he started respecting when said enemy acted honourably in sacrificing himself to save the planet. He formed a bond, and everyone conveniently forgot that he KIDNAPPED the 4 year old kid for a year, left him alone in the wilderness, gave him absolutely no slack, and did we forget that this kid spent his fifth birthday not with his mother but going through hellish training to try and save the world from aliens? Who gives a shit when he sacrifices himself to save the kid's life though right?
Yeah, DBZ is a fighting anime, but gotta remember Piccolo for all that he changes is not the nicest person, pre or post reincarnation. Canon seems to like to forget that and only really recognizes it when he fuses with Kami and explicitly states that the evil in his heart is completely gone with that action.

I do like that they never betray that he's a scientist to the core with an eternal thirst to learn, damn the consequences or amorality of it. That is a very interesting villain with absolutely no need for redemption nor would I want to see him have it.
