You're right. Loghain, for instance, isn't pretty so nobody in the fandom ever really cares or tries to defend him. I only recall one character in Inquisition who actually points out the subtle flaws in the overall treatment of Loghain that didn't occur to me while playing Origins.

I almost wish I could have recruited him as a Warden, but I didn't want to throw Alistair under the bus.
