I'm sorry, but why do so many people in this hobby think that being indirect and subtle is the polite thing to do? I'd much prefer a friend taking me aside to say that my characters voices are bleeding together over vague comments that leave me wondering whether they're teasing or criticizing me.
that's between friends, how do we know anon is friends with this person or just an acquaintance who could be seen as very rude and shitty and have this backfire?
If it's an acquaintance then they're essentially giving them unsolicited and unasked for critique, which is pretty rude. If I asked you guys what's a polite way of telling some random artist that they've got a really bad case of sameface and all of their characters look the same, what would you say to that?
Gavin is only fun when played correctly, but sadly people take it personal when characters are mean fuckers to their characters so we don't get to see the real good players often.
if you've played with more than one of their characters, mention that and tell them that they sound similar. there isn't much else you can say unless you have suggestions for how they can fix it.
but you shouldn't be bothering to crit them unless they have an hmd you can leave a comment on or they've asked for crit on plurk/directly from you. if the voice issue bothers you, don't play with them or take it down to only playing with one of their characters.
