part of it is that people like that exist, royals fans, and their fanaticism just riles up the people who have a reason to resent british exceptionalism/imperialism, and that frustration comes out as directed at the queen/her family bc they're a symbol (and have obviously directly benefited from a lot of mistreatment of others). don't know why it's really hard for some people to understand
