fwiw anon, by spiraling instead of listening they are taking your pain and making it about them, which is super manipulative behavior whether they're intending to do it or not. it sounds like they need to grow up and/or get help, and I don't blame you for your increasing frustration. a relationship, even a friendship, where you can't establish boundaries or express discomfort is imbalanced. that's not "fine".
