I knew someone who played Tonks from Harry Potter and specifically wrote a backstory where she was raped as a kid for being a half-blood child.

The part that made it real bad was how it was used to shut down any other character's troubles in her threads. Your character got murdered in canon? Not as sad as her backstory! Your character was betrayed by a loved one! Not bad enough! Your character also got raped? Hope you like comparing sexual assaults so she can tell you hers was worse!
