i wasn't talking about this wank alone, and i'm not particularly worried about it closing either. it's basically running on fumes at this point and half the hobby wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole but it gets juuuust enough interest that it keeps going.

ryslig's issues run deeper than this incident though. it's changed hands a ton of times and has a lot of elements that are just sort of patched together in an attempt to honor old mod calls from 2015 because some of the same players are still here with the same characters. it's deviated pretty far from monster horror into a monster sandbox full of party mingles and crack events. everything's pretty much been done at least once. like most older games, it's attracted some players who have since shown their ass and wouldn't be accepted anywhere else, so they cling to this one for dear life.

but it does have a good concept, and with the shortage of mods there's no point in hoping someone'll make another monster game (i acknowledge that my unwillingness to mod one makes me part of the problem). a soft reboot or setting refresh would go a long way.

and this isn't a matter of just avoiding problem players. it's the fact that the mods have participated in shittalking their players with other players in their game, sharing info that should be mod only with them, and have taken no serious action against players who do that, ie luc.

avoiding players can be easy, but i'm not sure why anyone would want to play in a game where you can't trust the mods.

At this point the people crying about how they wish there was a new monster game are as annoying as the Ryslig defense squad, whether they refuse to app to Ryslig or they're playing there but wish there was an alternative.

The reason there isn't a shiny new monster game is because none of you are making it. Period. No one's going to make the game you want to play in for you.
