honest question: why doesn't this person just write fanfic instead? it's too niche to rp, but when i have a ship too niche to rp i write fic for it and that scratches the itch pretty well without me having to flake out on anyone or get frustrated by lack of replies. seems like a straightforward solution to me.

you'd have to ask that person, obviously, but at least for me writing fic just isn't it. i don't get any enjoyment out of it. no itch is scratched.

I've met one person IRL I met on Plurk and it's been fun every time we do so! We just go out for lunch, discuss fandom stuff, work, family, you know, the usual stuff friends talk about no matter how you initially met them. It helps we're both pretty grounded people who have a life outside of RP and we knew each other a long time chatting online before we ever decided to meet up in person. No socially awkward, unbathed shut-in stories here. She's even asked to visit me at work once or twice, alas, our schedules have just never lined up for that.

fwiw it is possible, but rare, for intersex people to be born with both sets of genitalia. look up sophia young. the reason why you don't hear about them as much is because they're forcibly "corrected" as infants.

it's cool to want to get rid of stigma and make sure people aren't fetishising it but saying that there's no such thing as an intersex person who looks like that isn't true and is just as problematic imo.

but intersex people can have a penis and a vagina at the same time. hell a lot of trans men also have a penis and a vagina. if you get phalloplasty or metaplasty the penis is functional and you can fuck someone with it and if you choose to keep your vagina (which some men do) you can use it sexually as well.

anyway saying "an intersex person can't have a penis and a vagina" isn't correct because those people exist and are valid as intersex or trans people

saying "futa characters with fully functioning penises and vaginas are obviously fetish fuel and unrealistic" is correct because they are, but that doesn't mean the above mentioned intersex people don't exist

someone who says their futa character is intersex is probably either ignorant of what it means to be intersex or working off of incorrect canon assumptions or both

iirc some of the canon material also incorrectly translates kaine as being intersex so in some cases it's understandable if the canon itself isn't great about the term

Canon does use intersex, yes. I think there was a thread on rpa about it not too long ago.
