not sure if you'd call it horror, but one of the most unpleasant experiences was allowing myself to get dragged along by a flake for over a year in a ship that never developed passed the cuddle phase, because the mun could never keep a thread going once it reached double digits and i prefer actually playing out my ships rather than just talking about them.

after bringing it up two or three times and repeatedly getting promises that they'd do better, i was just done and admitted i was not having fun with the ship because we weren't actually playing it. felt like shit but it taught me to put my foot down better when dealing with those kinds of people and not letting myself feel too guilty to say no if i'm not enjoying something.

this was a type of player who also abused the strike system in games and would pass ac each month on the bare minimum. tbh i really should've known better than to agree to a ship, but i was so thirsty and had no idea just how much i would not be playing it out over the next year. the way all my current cr kept flaking on me for their ships, i might've hoped that maybe that might be the case once we got something going. i was so wrong. :(

mine has two (one healing job, and one crafting job) and that's it because more than that sounds insane and stupid (hi neth!!)

i mean, moon is also weird in how they seem to react to ships not being exclusive like it's irl infidelity, which is considerably worse.

i never had this experience with them, so i'm not sure. i just know they were very obsessed with their ships, to the point of taking personal offense when their pet ship partner isn't tagging them despite having rl issues.

weirdly, i didn't notice the latter, but it's not surprising given what i DO remember of their behavior. it feels like both are rooted in being way too personally invested in rp ships.

It's a customizable PC with most major NPCs being there to prop them up, leading to people being very intense about their husbandos. Self-insert is a given, and self-insert plus shipping always attracts more batshit people.

you'd all finally find out if i play a nazi or not

was asked to do a crackship with a castmate in a game i'd just joined. did not think it through whatsoever (it was late and i was young, this is my only excuse) and said sure! let's do it! and proceeded to rp the most forced instant-romance between our characters who had never met before in the span of one night. read it the next morning and cringed so hard i never touched that character again. later dropped claiming that i lost the muse, which isn't wrong per se but it was 100% because i didn't want to tell the other player i regretted our one night stand. this happened on LJ so i made sure that journal's comments were also deleted completely when we all moved to DW.
