It was absolutely pathetic how many players shrugged at the truth being out in the open, as if this hadn't been the case for ages, even pre-JGK. While I'm willing to buy some people got blindsided by this mess, I have very little sympathy for the majority of the playerbase.

The novelty of the meme spam and drops in the aftermath also got real old real fast, tbh, on top of obnoxiously dragging it into EMP ads.

that's me and i'm not gsai. just pointing out that while gsai is a twat, they aren't kay/stormy levels of harassing/ignoring preferences twat. you ban on open comms for things like harassment, not for whatever gsai's done that's pissed everyone off. (unless it's harassment, in which case i retract my statement. i really haven't paid much attention since they come up so damn much i just know they modded a game and it ended because mod favoritism? fucked if i know at this point)

tbf i don't think the callout plurk really addressed why gonsai being a mod was even an issue. i'm not entirely clear what the story is beyond "long history of harassing people" but no real examples, which is easy to write off because dwrpers also tend to exaggerate details for the sake of drama. we love our histrionics.

not saying that's the case with gonsai. just saying that, unless you personally experienced their bullshit or have at least been around long enough to know their name, i can't blame some for seeing the plurk simply outing gonsai as a mod mod and then shrugging it off. even the linked threads are vague about what exactly they've done to make them so reviled.

it's even worse by the fact that you can't just google search it anymore.

you keep insisting (although no one asked or implied it) that you don't project onto your character, but every day the things you say and the things you actually do get farther apart. you say it's stupid when other people play a certain type of character in a certain dynamic...and then you turn around and play that type, searching for that dynamic. you say it's stupid and embarrassing when other people make their character the pathetic stereotypical uke looking for a somewhat abusive stereotypical seme, and that those character types are outmoded...and then you put all your threads on ice if they're not giving you exactly that. you say other people should get off dwrp if they give their character all their mental illnesses, and so on...but you do that exact thing with your own character, with the same type of unhinged headcanon essays insisting it's not just you.

i haven't started that psl i said i'd start yet because it's becoming more and more obvious that anyone rping with you will have to walk on eggshells for the foreseeable future, and i do not want you to get possessive and weird about my character because you can't distinguish yourself from yours.

anons like to act as though not paying attention earlier is a damning indictment of someone's character, but the fact is that the plurk didnt really do much other than tell people that they were shadowmodding

it did nothing to educate people who havent been here since lj and it failed to give people outside of the know a reason to care or believe, doubly so when gsai tends to make these tight little circles and convince the people around them that everything is just silly grudgewank with no ground underneath it. im sure if anons here had seen that plurk made about someone they were solid friends with, a good amount would have discounted it as well
