I agree with this tbh. Once or twice every few months? Fine. But if it's a near constant basis (some people do it like twice a week), I unfollow them and tbh lose interest in tagging them because they keep whining. If they didn't, I probably wouldn't have noticed they haven't tagged back because not everyone tags back at the same pace. I'd still tag someone giving me tags once a month because I want to, but if I felt they did this performative "people must hate me for tagging so slow" I'd just drop them because that's more annoying than just tagging back slowly.
