spoiler: it doesn't have to go away. someone opposed to your viewpoint has every right to spew it as you do yours. mute/ignore is literally the best option and is the ones that puts the onus on you, the offended party, to curate your world experience. being offended is not an actual offense, ffs. you're not traumatized by it. you can't sue for being offended at someone's opinion.

the main issue is that some people, clearly like you, who can't separate 'people not liking things i like' with 'people not liking me'. someone not liking a thing you like is not a personal attack on you. you make it personal. especially when your response is 'it needs to go away'. no, it doesn't. you need to ignore it. your opinion is not the only one that matters. it only matters to you.
