was this a case of (1) "ability to impregnate people with horror eggs" was the surprise, and then from that point forward people could choose whether or not they wanted to play out oviposition smut in that time frame...
...or was it (2) "characters who fucked this NPC will experience a surprise body horror consequence that will be in play for the following month," and then, "surprise! all your character's sexual partners are pregnant with horror eggs"
because while (1) is certainly a misstep--since it potentially locks players out of threading smut for a month in what i understand to be a kink horror game, overall i'd consider it to be a tier of offense that is covered by an apology and learning to do better. (2) on the other hand would be pretty fucking (no pun intended) dire: not only surprise pregnancies with no pregnancy horror warning, but also hitting characters who may not have been at the original opt-in orgy to begin with. this one would make me seriously question the mods' judgment and whether it was appropriate for them to run a game with a lot of potentially triggering content at all.
...it sounds like you're describing the (1) and not (2), but there's been enough talk about a failure to warn for pregnancy horror that i feel like i can't be sure.
