while it's true that there are lots of blonde, and otherwise colorfully haired, anime characters out there, i do think there's a difference between japanese original artists and creators using hair-color for diversity in media of their own creation, and an oc created by a "western" creator who has blonde hair, no real obvious asian features in any of the art provided, and goes by "rosalina," but is totally japanese because... reasons?

though, note, i have no idea who this player is and nor do i care, they could be mixed or asian themselves and that would kind of change the cultural calculus. i just think it's a little weird to go "this is my japanese oc, she doesn't go by a japanese name or have any identifiable features that are japanese, but she's really is, i promise!" and saying "yeah but some anime characters are blonde" still doesn't get into the "okay, but why did you make those choices" of it all.
