da and yes, this is exactly why i play one of my canon control freaks as a switch. sometimes he wants to call the shots but sometimes he wants to just lie back and relax and let his partner blow his back out.

i’m asian and i have both a native name and a western name. my parents are the same. the western names are our legal names but we still actively use the asian names when we speak the language and it’s still a big deal. my parents have a family friend who did not and goes by her asian names but her husband and their children do - i actually don’t know her children’s western names because we never meet outside of their get together and i just always called them by their asian names because that’s what their parents called them.

i also had a extended family member come for college and when she initially came over, she picked “georgia” as a western but then decided after some time that she wanted to go by “iris” instead.

it’s really not that weird.

same. Asian people with western names and/or even last names (by marriage, by adoption, by choice, lots of reasons for it) is such a common thing that I'm surprised anyone raises a brow to see it.

hell, my family almost always goes with my western name when referring to me these days, including the folks who live in asia and have never been to another country. my og asian name only gets busted out for legal documentation really

eh, this is oversimplifying. the only elements in common with the fic are the original stuff she came up with. there's no actual homage to homestuck except the sunglasses, and people saying it's just homestuck characters are reaching real hard. i was a homestuck fan and i like tlt a lot but it's not just serial numbers filed off homestuck, that's a significant reduction.

but former homestuck RPers who are playing tlt as homestuck characters because they actually want to just play homestuck will tell you this is the case. imho this is the problem with half the tlt cast on this site, they aren't playing tlt at all. they're trying to play more respectable homestuck. you can tell who is influenced by homestuck/tsg and who isn't. sadly the good/not just playing tsg ones are all flaky thread droppers so it isn't likely you'll get good cr with the decent ones.

Same here. I have coworkers in Japan (and my own Asian family too) who uses fairly western names too, and depending on how 'pure' their bloodline is, they can easily be mistaken for another ethnicity. I say 'pure' because tbh most people have mixed ancestry of some sort despite the generations they know all living in the same country, and it's just a matter of whether genetics decides to randomly toss you a curveball out of nowhere and be the one who looks different.

Ooooh I played with someone like that who had to go through mental gymnastics to justify why her character is totally a top because of reasons a, b, c, and when people don't agree she gets very prickly about it. She also equates topping with dominance and big dicks, puts bottom stereotypes on my character, even if canon actually disproves quite a bit of what she said.

I don't know why she didn't just stick to saying she just wants him to top. It was very weird talking to her, and I'm kinda glad we don't anymore.

i can handle the pillow queens since i can just finish the thread quickly or drop the thread. its the extreme tsunderes that are the worst. i dont cater to noncon fetishs or push a thread when players can’t imagine writing even an ounce of sexual receptivity.

people who want to write smut have to be able to write their character wanting it.
