knightsoflegend is the one that prompted this post; I saw it on a d-m post a while back and decided to check it out cause I hadn't heard of it. and surprise fucking surprise, it's got a only live-action pb rule to "promote a unity of appearance here." Oh, and it's also got Tifa and Shana.
If I wasn't so busy at the moment, I'd be tempted to app one of my manga characters with a mix of live action pb and manga scans, but mostly use the manga scans in rp, just to see if I could get away with it.
When the person you absolutely need for a log is difficult to contact and hasn't been in contact. In game where there's a lot of player on player logs, don't make yourself hard to talk to jfc.
jfc this. or when the absent player posts something that's game-changing for my character and then never tags back to the other characters responding to that post.
we figured out a workaround if that mun never shows up thankfully but don't app to a game that'd require a lot of OOC organization if you're not going to be around.
I hate it when I app into a cast and somehow in my preliminary stalking didn't realize I was actually apping in to be a minor character in So-And-So's Constant Drama Train Show.
And it's not even necessarily coming from the cast I join, maybe only from that single person their character has CR with that I didn't look into.
On either front it's someone my character wouldn't ignore while being IC. Someone they'd get to know or want to protect/look out for/befriend or something.
And they are always always getting injured. Or killed. Or getting pulled into serious drama because of who they know. It leaves me OOCly and my character ICly in a position of not knowing what to do with themselves, basically reduced to reacting to it all time after time, when I'm not personally interested in doing so. I've let myself stay stuck in that position in a cast for way too long before so no need to advise me to drop this time around, but it's still such a HUGE peeve of mine.
I'm only saying there's such a thing as moderation in drama. good for you enjoying your RPing but goddamn am I sick of putting up reactionary comment after reactionary comment.
When someone chooses to tag me and set up a situation that can only end in tons of bad consequences for my character or me forcing my character to be totally OOC.
I'm okay with negative consequences. But when my post has a note attached that Action A will only end badly and you're a known "my character is so awesome, nothing can hurt them" godmoder? I'm going to be annoyed.
Similarly, I hate it when a villain character decides they just are going to fuck up your character's life without consulting you, and there's no real IC way for your character get out of it.
I am okay with negative CR and bad things happening to my characters, it's not like nothing can ever hurt my presh babbu, but at the same time I don't really want my characters so traumatized they're completely unplayable, and what's more, it makes me really irritated when I feel like I have no way to get out of a huge plot I may not be in the mood for. I wish more people would ask about this stuff before just doing it.
My character is injured and has a pretty definitive beserk/panic button. They will, in fact, not react rationally when this is pressed. Which is why I made a note on the post about this personal issue.
Then this player (whom I already mix with like oil and water) just casually has their character jam the button, basically. I know it's partly the "who," but there is no way for me to write a reply that isn't putting my character in danger because this person will insist their character is awesome and can't be beaten or anything like that. Especially not since my character is, at best, "badass normal." And theirs has powers, and such.
