Put your preferences in the damn subject line or you don't get to be pissy when someone tags you and you don't want to play against male or female characters
NO ONE GIVES A SHIT IF YOU SAY YOU DON'T WANT ANIMU/LA/OCS/MEN/WOMEN/FUCKING TENTACLES but shaking and crying because someone you didn't want to tag you couldn't read your fucking mind and realise that "ota" meant OTA except you is not THEIR fucking problem. It is yours, you massive wankstain.
Sorry this just riles me up because it's the perfect example of dwrp shits.
you can be as pissy as you want, anon. I put my preferences in the comment itself because it's easier that way, and I don't have to worry about swimming in the sea that is blank comments too.
but if they're ignoring the preferences stated? then yeah. you can be as fucking pissy as you want to be.
no, motherfucker, I don't want to. I posted a top even comment so how about YOU fucking roll or start? if I wanted to start I would be tagging other people in these memes. jfc...
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THIS. Especially don't PM me and write me a paragraph that translates into "can you start?" The time and energy you put into that could have been better used to FUCKING START.
i usually ask if an option is ok because i don't think there's any problem with being considerate. i promise that it's not a ploy to get you to start or because i'm uncreative and need you to come at me with all the ideas, anon!
except that most people are smart enough to say straight up what options aren't ok. you see it all the time. everything but 3, 5, or 9. if there's nothing like that, asking if an option is ok comes across exactly like the people being lazy fucks. there's no reason to do it.
More or less, this. I've noticed that more and more people these days, on memes, are starting to actually put up their preferences on which prompts they're okay and not okay with.
Even if there isn't anything listed, while I understand that some people are actually attempting to be considerate, being asked "Is this # okay?" or "I rolled a #, is that okay with you?" and "I got a # and I can start if you like!" has left a sour taste in my mouth to anyone who decides to comment with something along those lines. It's happened to me enough and I'm the type of person who puts my preferences in the body of the comment.
It just makes me side-eye and group everyone together who does it as a lazy sack of shit who doesn't want to actually start :|
Just pick a damn number and write up a response. In the amount of time the conversation takes place, you could have had a tag typed up.
In the amount of time the conversation takes place, you could have had a tag typed up.
This is why it bugs me. If you're in a different time zone or on a different sleep schedule to the person you're asking it could mean that the conversation takes a day of time away from threading and by that time they might be over the meme entirely.
my absolute favorite thing is when someone asks "is # okay?" in a blatant effort to get the other person to offer to start, and the op just says something along the lines of "sure!"
i feel bad about once never starting after asking if something was okay (the character i wanted to tag with was new canon and could be spoiler-y, so i wanted to clear that first rather than a number) but the response came two weeks later and i'd lost interest in the meme.
there really isn't anything wrong with being considerate, no, but if you're going to go through the trouble of asking then just don't tag anyone. either pick an option or find someone who has their preferences listed and go from there.
i also do it, but mostly because i'm not sure how well the options will mesh with both of our characters.
mostly it is just an opportunity for someone to tell me that they don't want to play with me before i bother typing something up. i'd rather someone straight up say they aren't interested at all than waste my time.
so instead you're wasting their time with bullshit when the fact that they've fucking posted a top level comment means they want to play. it's insecure shit stains like you who are killing memes.
