I wasn't trolling, so thanks for the honest input! I definitely agree there are exceptions, and I don't want to insult LA players out there (I've played from every conceivable medium at one point, so I'd really just be insulting myself too) by saying they're omg ship crazy - but I do think that... just because there's a real person's face attached to the icon, even if the show setting is supernatural, or fantasy-based, or something completely out there, the player feels more compelled to make their character act like an average person.
Sometimes this is cool, because I personally do enjoy these 'subtle' scenes, where you're playing day-to-day interaction that somehow impacts or says a lot about your character, or triggers some fundamental development; but when you're playing - let's keep to him - Dean Winchester, and all he does every day is largely browse theinternet network and grab a beer, it can get amazingly redundant very fast.
And I completely agree about how LA players tend to play it safer than anime players, who have a tendency to go to an extreme that can steer into OOCdom - this has been my experience with it all too.

that's a very black and white situation though. that's the same as a wizard using an anti magic zone to nullify other wizard's spells. of course the fireball is going to be diffused, it's hitting an anti magic zone. it's just common sense. i'm more referring to things that are in the grey area, like when i used that example before about Storm. (yes, i understand the point is moot now for the plot in question, so let's pretend the plot isn't in the cards in this explanation.) they both can do things with the weather. it's not fair to go to Storm's mun and say "you can't do anything about the weather because it's my plot and i said so" (i'm not saying that's how it went down, but in general.)
it's much more fair to say "my character can do this, and i know your character will probably try to do something against that, want to talk about it and plot it out? make it a struggle and create obstacles and challenges that make this fun for you and myself!"
and to the anon that mentioned the 50% power cap, you're right, and it's best i think to communicate between muns on the matter of powers and what they've restricted themselves to and what they haven't.

iirc all these characters live in the same house, maka and jade included. i wouldn't really call it playercesting since i don't think jade and maka ever directly interacted but it i just think it's weird that even jade seems to be obsessed with mentioning maka's boyfriend.
i guess that makes sense. tagging out a lot would be excusable to me if they were doing it because the chance of getting a tag back to a prompt is low but i'm one of those shitty people who rarely tags out (i don't musedump ftr and rarely post to memes at all but when i do i'm a dick) so i wouldn't know.

I think because it takes more time and a bit more effort to write something like this than to just let it tumble out of your mouth. So someone freaking out this way out loud is more understandable than someone typing out the whole thing and (most importantly) making the conscious decision to then share that puddle of word vomit with others.
i've heard complaints from a former T9 mod that Funk was really a horrible pain in the neck to work with.
im guessing they really want asspats or something. someone to see how ~terribly upset~ they are and come try to ~make it all better~
