can you explain the difference between sex via coercion and rape
rape implies an lack of or inability to consent. coercion implies there was consent. the fine difference between the two is usually decided on a case by case basis. one person's coercion may be a full removal of consent to another, especially depending on the victim's state of mind and whether or not they believe there is a way out.
i'd guess it would be the difference between abusing someone emotionally (like telling them they're worthless and only you care about them etc etc) and telling them you'll hurt them if they don't give sex.

Sex via coercion IS a form of rape. Coating a pile of shit in gold and diamonds doesn't make it any less shit. Victims are victims, no matter how they became victims. If there is a way to escape a situation but the victim doesn't do so (whether via terror or intimidation or whatever), it's STILL RAPE. Calling it otherwise is victim-blaming.

It's not so much the plots as much as it is the atmosphere, I suppose? Everything feels stale lately, as opposed to the way things moved a year ago. I was under the impression that the stalking/harassing was a wholly different incident from the rape. If I'm wrong, my apologies. I agree that nobody should be posting the victim's name. No one has the right to do that but her. I would be horrified if her name got loose here too.
