Well duh, I'm sure people say it somewhere on the internet. it's become one of those overused words like "epic" and "awesome" and "privilege."
I think the point was that nobody in this thread was arguing that FiM is deep.

Some of what I play are from video games that practically might as well be visual novels- but particularly heavy on the dialogue side of things and less on the ongoing narrative (there isn't one). There's some simple body cues and languages to signal certain kinds of moods, but the rest is from character voice, dialogue, and tone.
It's entirely third-person objective, with no perspective flipping or delving deep into the inner thoughts of either/any character involved in a conversation, and yet you know what? It works. You can get the feel of everything going on, what they're thinking, what's going on in their heads, just from what they're saying or doing- or what they're not, for the quieter characters. I strive for that natural sort of feel, though I'll be the first to admit I'm nowhere near that.
It's just stylistic differences. It's less the methods and more the execution; people can be shitty writers no matter their style.

Not as far as I know. However, That Suzaku is on the app team, and has no to very little reading comprehension judging based on her RP. I wouldn't expect her grasp of apps to be any better and I strongly suspect this was her doing.

the suzaku isn't so much as incoherent the way spandy is incoherent, but they're totally confusing in a different way. they give replies that don't make sense with what you wrote and it sometimes seems like they're rping a whole different scene in their head from what's actually going on.

I don't think it's that bad. We have a larger amount of Eastern media canons, but I've not seen any of them hesitate to tag Western media characters at all.

I wouldn't say I get butthurt, just kind of worried and sad? I get a little bit, "Oh no, am I doing something wrong?" and I worry that I'm boring or creepy or OOC, or that there's otherwise something about me that's putting them off. I don't really care if someone ignores a meme tag because they don't like my canon, but if I don't know that's why, it does make me kind of sad for a few seconds.

Also, most people show how they're feeling, to some extent. They look upset when they're upset, they sound sarcastic when they're being sarcastic. I mean, obviously my character can't tell every detal about your character's history just by looking, but she presumably can tell the difference between a sarastic "Oh, yay." with rolled-eyes versus a quiet but sincere "Oh, yay." with clasped hands. Those are two totally different things.
Obviously people who are master manipulators or have a lot of experience hiding their emotions are a different story, but even then, my character will see the image of themself they're trying to present. if they're trying to seem friendly or interested, you can do things to convey that.
Unless your character legit just seems like a robot most of the time. Some characters do, but that needs to be something you say too.

I only have seen every Rose rper I've encountered as crazy, but irl I know a handful of fans for her character that are sane.
I did want to try my hand at Rose in a game with no interest in shipping whatsoever because I really love her personality, but who knows if I ever will. I'd probably end up with a Ten castmate after awhile (Although I did want to take her from Nine's season just as a counter measure lol)
