yeah i know a lot of people who did. so it bugs me even more that a mod character got a slot instead. :/

As a former mod I don't think mods should be exempt from the fun of plots just because they run it. Yet as a former mod I also know that if it's a plot with limited space and places those chosen few on a special pedestal of attention, it's an asshole move to put your character in it.

Another former mod here agreeing with what you've said and with a different take as well. It always helps to have at least one mod put a character into plots as an example of what to do or where to go for IC and OOC guidance, especially with a larger plot. So far as I see out of both Rift and Jamie and any of the app team's characters, there's only the one involved unless others reveal themselves later. It helps more than hurts, and they aren't taking up a lot of space with just one.
