Britaboo is hilarious because the people who do live in the UK never refer to themselves as British.

I think 'never' might be a generalisation there. I'm so used to saying 'British' that being called 'English' by Americans was really jarring to me.

i don't see it as much with people from scotland and wales, and obviously irish people aren't from britain so.

It helps to be specific because if you say you're British most people will assume English, which is probably why English people use British and nobody else does.
